Roni Golan is a collaborative live event painter who turns weddings into an interactive art experience, inviting your guests to bring their memories, experiences, and wishes to the canvas, one brushstroke at a time.

Roni Golan has been creating art for 35+ years and has been bringing his collaborative painting format to weddings, galas, and corporate events across Illinois for over 10 years. He is based in Rockford and works weddings in Chicago, throughout Illinois, Wisconsin, and at destination venues when clients fly him out.
Couples consistently describe him the same way: charismatic, kind, patient. The kind of host who makes a guest who would never pick up a brush end the night painting.
His role at a wedding is part artist, part host. He guides each guest at the canvas as the reception unfolds, then takes the painting back to his studio to refine, balance, and varnish the piece into one cohesive artwork that is ready to hang.
His home base is The Underground, his gallery and studio in downtown Rockford, where the finishing work happens after each event. For events further from home, he finishes the painting on site.

The standard canvas is 36 inches by 48 inches, sized for receptions of up to 175 guests. For larger weddings, Roni adds a second canvas placed side-by-side so everyone who wants to participate has time and space at the easel. Both canvases are finished into one coordinated artwork.

After the reception, Roni takes the canvas back to his studio and completes the work, refining detail, balancing the composition, and varnishing the piece. He adds the final touches that tie everything together: the orb behind your guests’ contributions, the thread of color running across the canvas, the unifying detail that turns dozens of individual moments into one painting. Most finished pieces are delivered within 24 to 48 hours of the wedding. Many couples have theirs in hand before they leave for the honeymoon.

The easel lives near the bar, the dance floor, or wherever the energy of your reception flows. Roni works through the reception in whatever range of time fits your timeline, usually one to four hours. Do my guests need any painting experience?
No painting experience needed. The session is guided start to finish. Roni pre-loads each brush, walks every guest through where to add their stroke, and shapes the overall composition as the night moves. Kids as young as three or four jump in just like everyone else.
Will it get messy for dressed-up guests?
The process is designed for formal weddings. Roni handles the paint mixing, brush cleaning, and the area around the canvas; guests step up to a pre-loaded brush one at a time. The floor is protected, contributions happen one guest at a time, and the painting stays composed throughout the reception.
What size is the canvas and can it scale for larger weddings?
